WYETH WATERCOLOR BOOT CAMP
Join nationally acclaimed watercolor artist, Alan Shuptrine for an encore Watercolor Boot Camp focusing on methods and techniques favored by renowned American watercolor artist, Andrew Wyeth (1917 - 2009) and Alan’s father Hubert Shuptrine (1936 – 2006). In 2010, Shuptrine was invited to exhibit his works in the Vero Beach Museum of Art exhibition, “In the Tradition of Wyeth: Contemporary Watercolor Masters.” His works were displayed beside master watercolorists Andrew Wyeth, his father, Hubert Shuptrine (1936-2006), Stephen Scott Young and others. Shuptrine uses many of Wyeth’s works and subject matter as inspirations and for this class will focus on weathered farm homes and clapboard buildings, shadows, and distant fields of grass. Wyeth’s preferred techniques being covered in the class include drybrush watercolor, layering of washes, the use of egg tempera, and detailed Realism. Don’t be intimidated! This class will be a fun, extensive and immersive class! Space is limited to allow for individual guidance. All skill levels welcome.
