Join artist Alan Shuptrine for a watercolor class focusing on the techniques and inspiration of American watercolorist, Andrew Wyeth (1917 – 2009). As an artist, Shuptrine is inspired by the work and techniques of artists Andrew Wyeth and his father, Hubert Shuptrine (1936 – 2006), renowned watercolorists. In 2010, Shuptrine was invited to exhibit his watercolors at The Vero Beach Museum of Art. The exhibition was titled “In the Tradition of Wyeth: Contemporary Watercolor Masters” and Alan was honored to have his paintings displayed alongside these two renowned painters. For this workshop, Alan is drawing on this inspiration and focusing on techniques favored by Wyeth including wet-in-wet washes, drybrush, and wet-on-dry techniques. Attendees will work on weathered farmhouses, barns, and grassy fields, all frequent components of a Wyeth landscape. Don’t be intimidated, this class is for all levels!  A supply list will be provided.
